Did you know that brittle stars are not true sea stars? Brittle stars are Ophiurids, and differ from regular sea stars in many ways. For example, brittle stars don’t have tube feet or an ambulacral groove (groove on bottom of sea star legs). Additionally, these stars’ legs are attached to the central disk differently than traditional starfish.
