LPS corals can be exceedingly difficult to frag. They don’t have fragile branches that can easily be cut and glued to a frag plug and they don’t have a small polyps that can be ripped off a mother colony. Instead, most LPS corals have a very tough skeleton. To get through these rock hard corals, you can use a tile saw or band saw. The Inland Band Saw is a popular choice for many reef aquarium keepers who frag lots of hard corals. Wet tile saws are also a popular frag cutting tool.
