Powerheads can be your best friend or your greatest enemy. Most of these pumps can pull quite a bit of suction and the intakes are large enough to pull things into them. Wandering anemones and sea cucumbers can easily become powerhead food, getting shred to bits and nuking your aquarium. Even seemingly healthy fish can get stuck to the sides of these pumps, causing fish death, or at the very least, some torn up fins.
