Tip of the Day 12/30/2010

Anemones have a tendency to wander around the aquarium. They do this especially when stressed. It’s even pretty common for established anemones to randomly uproot themselves and become nomadic, seeking greener pastures. This wandering around isn’t necessarily bad, but can be potentially harmful to other livestock. SPS corals are easily stung by traveling anemones, and powerheads can become the anemone’s worst nightmare. To help keep anemones in the spot you want them, provide them with plenty of rock to hide their “feet” in, and keep the both the lighting and flow adequate.
