Apparently peppermint shrimp (Lysmata wundermanni) like the taste of Stomatella snails. Much to my dismay, I happened across a peppermint shrimp in my tank with a mouthful of Stomatella. The shrimp are very opportunistic feeders, so seeing it snacking on a snail of any type should really come as no surprise. However, these shrimp aren’t usually predatory, at least on moving animals. Peps, as they are usually called, are best known for eating various pest anemones like Majanos and Aiptasia, but obviously they’ll eat many other things as well. To keep peps from eating desirable invertebrates, hobbyists can target feed and hope this will suffice.
