When trying new salt brands, it’s advisable to make the transition from your previous salt to the new one a slow and smooth one. Some hobbyists will blend the salt in various proportions, so as to not shock the livestock with the new brand. They do this by mixing a small percentage of the new salt into a batch of water made with the old salt. With each water change, the percentage of the newer salt increases until the other salt is no longer being used. Unfortunately, this requires a couple of buckets of each brand and might not be cost effective. For a cheaper route, you could perform frequent small water changes entirely with the new salt brand, this way you won’t change things up too quickly.
