The Rainfordia opercularis Seen on Video

2

The Rainfordia opercularis, or Flathead Perch, is a rather interesting and rare fish that was recently imported by Blue Harbor out of Japan. As many of you already know, Blue Harbor is known for importing super rare and super high end fish, many of which have never even made their way to the US. The flathead perch, as its name suggests, has a flattened head and eyes that are positioned very close to the front of the head. It is endemic to East Australia, and can often be found in caves and crevices on the reef. These fish can reach a length of 15cm, or roughly 6 inches. Still little is known about this rare fish, but we can certainly say that it is quite interesting.
