Changing out the bulbs on an 8-bulb T5HO light fixture doesn’t have to be a big expensive purchase that requires you to cut back the photoperiod over your aquarium to prevent corals from burning. Instead of replacing every bulb at once, simply replace them one by one. By changing out an old bulb for a new one once per month or even every couple of months, your corals won’t suffer from a sever increase in light intensity and your wallet won’t be screaming. Instead, you spread the changes out over a long period of time, allowing the corals to never miss a beat and keeping your spouse off your case. After all, it’s a little easier to sneak a $20 purchase past your significant other every couple of months than to try an hide a $160 light bulb purchase.
