Tip of the Day – 5/30/2012

When finishing up your water change, don’t be so hasty to dump the old water. As you finish filling the aquarium back up to its normal operating volume, you may realize that you’ve removed more than you were planning on adding back to the setup. So, after the refilling has taken place, use some of the old water to make sure the water level in the sump is at its maximum desired level. Try to avoid using RO/DI water, as it will decrease the salinity below what your aquarium normally runs with.
