Some fish don’t know the limits of their own appetite. When presented with large amounts of food, they will literally eat until they can’t stuff anymore food into their stomachs. In these situations, it’s common to see a fish with food still hanging out of its mouth. Unfortunately though, this behavior can also cause a fish to become injured or even die. Frogfish are a prime example of this. They will eat and eat and eat, even to the point that they are too bulky to move. To prevent this from happening, regulate what the fish eats by only dropping in a few live feeder shrimp, or whatever your choice of food is, at a time. If you continue to feed, the fish will continue to eat and will hurt itself in the process.
