One of the most useful tools in any aquarium keeper’s arsenal is an empty bucket, believe it or not. The 5-gallon buckets that usually come full of salt can be re-purposed to become water change vessels, acclimate new livestock purchases, transport sand and rocks, or even turned into a function piece of aquarium equipment with the right list of parts. So, before tossing out that bucket once the salt is all used up, try using it in a few different ways as they can become quite indispensable. And once you’ve accumulated more buckets than you need, don’t toss them to the curb. Instead, give any extras away to an eager young hobbyists to save them a few bucks.
