When it comes to securing your live rock structure, there are multiple different methods and tools at your disposal. If the rocks just don’t fit together nicely enough that they somewhat interlock and stay in place, then you can epoxy the rocks together, drill them to insert nylon or acrylic rods for easy stacking, use zip ties to hold rocks in place, or even use an aquarium friendly cement that basically turns two or more rocks into one solid piece. Of course, each of these methods have their benefits and drawbacks, but in our experience the use of plastic rods and cementing pieces together are the two most effective.
