Tip of the Day – 11/14/2012

Want to break away from the standard mixed reef and SPS dominated reef tanks that have become commonplace in this hobby but not sure what route to take? Well, there are plenty of options for you to choose from. If you want to take a small step away from the norm, you can do a predator reef tank in which the small community fish are replaced by larger, more aggressive fish. If that’s not enough for you, try a tank full of nothing but anemones. There are a few anemone only tanks floating around on the web these days, and they are usually jaw-dropping setup. If you want to really separate yourself from the more traditional setups, you could do a marine planted aquarium. Those are just a few different options to get you started, but the possibilities for originality are endless. Try something that’s within your skill range but different from what others in your community are doing.
