If you dose two part solutions to your reef tank and you’ve got a particular coral or invertebrate that’s hogging up all of your calcium, it might be time to upgrade to a calcium reactor or some other form of constant calcium addition. Even the smallest of aquariums can have high calcium demands, and there’s really no tank too small for a calcium reactor. Sure, most reactors are designed for larger setups, but they can be adapted to smaller tanks and manufacturers are coming out with smaller models more and more. If a calcium reactor isn’t your forte’, you could always set up a kalkwasser drip, or simply add kalkwasser to the new water for a water change. The possibilities are really endless.
