If you’re starting up a new aquarium, or simply need to replenish a pod population that has been depleted by over predation from a fish, live copepods and amphipods are readily available to purchase. Just grab a bottle from your local fish store, or try an alternative like live mysis or brine shrimp for feeding those finicky fish. Heck, you could even grow your own population in a refugium. Just fill the refugium with macroalgae, and the pods will populate it over time. Eventually, those pods will also find their way into the display tank, feeding your fish and inverts with a steady supply of the tiny crustaceans.
