Tip of the Day – 11/18/2013

Super glue is a vital tool in any reef keeper’s coral fragging kit. The cyanoacrylate based glue works great at bonding all sorts of corals to frag plugs, but it can lead to a sticky mess and it usually goes bad after just one use. Fortunately, there’s a neat little trick to keep the glue lasting for much longer than one use. Whenever you’re done fragging corals, just cap it off and drop it into the refrigerator. The cooler temperatures will keep the glue from drying out from within the tube, prolonging it for future fragging activities. Unfortunately, this tip won’t do much for the sheer messiness of the glue, and it won’t keep you from gluing your fingers together.
