With summer basically breathing down our necks, it’s a little late to start thinking about knocking the dust off your aquarium chiller to give it a checkup or see if it is even functional. Summertime heat will quickly climb, and if your aquarium constantly battles high temperatures during these months, then you’ll need your chiller to be in tip top shape. Like miniature air conditioner units, chillers use compressors, fans, and coolants to keep heat exchange working optimally. Cleaning the unit of dust is always a recommendation, but sometimes components fail and coolant needs to be refilled. These aren’t difficult tasks, but may require the help of a professional. While it is a bit late to start thinking about the maintenance, it’s better to be late than never. If you’re chiller goes out, there are ways to keep the aquarium cool, but who needs all that added stress of struggling to maintain a decent water temperature? So, don’t wait any longer, it’s only going to get hotter out there.
