Sometimes air flow over the top of your aquarium or sump can be just as crucial as water flow in your aquarium. This holds true especially if you use metal halides and/or have trouble maintaining your tank temperatures. The air flow will increase evaporation rates, which will cause your temperatures to decrease. Of course, because of this evaporative cooling, you’ll have to replenish tank water more regularly.
