Ribbon eels are beautiful creatures, but they are notoriously difficult to care for. They require good water quality, tons of hiding places, and most likely a live food source like ghost shrimp. After the eel has become acclimated to your setup and is readily eating, you can attempt to ween it off of live foods and onto frozen shrimp or small silversides. Also be sure to have a secure lid, as most eels are escape artists.
