When fragging any corals, especially zoanthids, be sure to wear some form of personal protective equipment (PPE). We use many sharp objects and handle rocks with rough edges, each of which could badly cut our hands. Couple those dangers with the very powerful palytoxin present in some zoas, and coral aquaculture very quickly becomes a dangerous activity. The best kind of PPE to wear during coral cutting includes latex or nitrile gloves, and either safety glasses or some form of face shield to prevent broken rocks and zoanthid juices from flying up in your face.
