When buying a high end coral that has a recognizable name, be sure to get the full lineage of the coral that goes as far back to the original owner or importer as possible. While the name isn’t important for maintaining its health, it is important when it comes time to dole out frags to other folks seeking high end corals. You can’t claim a piece is an LE coral without being able to trace it back to the right source. Frags from Oceans Reefs & Aquariums are a bit easier to track down, as they come with specific frag plugs and are easily recognizable, but some pieces aren’t so easy and require an extensive history to appease some hobbyists.
