Because fish aggression is very dependent on the individuals in the aquarium, it’s not uncommon to get aggressive interactions between two species that you’d never expect it from. Going against all conventional wisdom, the two fish may not even be the same shape, color, or size, but they still harass each other constantly. When situations like this happen, the best thing is to separate the two individuals by removing one, or both, from the aquarium. Of course, that’s easier said than done because it always seems like the fish that needs to removed is the hardest to catch.
