If you’re looking to make your aquarium pop just a little more, then there are a few inexpensive things you can do to help make those corals and fish stand out. For one, put a background on your aquarium. No, we’re not talking about those coral reef backgrounds that you take onto the back glass of your aquarium. Instead, we’re talking about painting the back of the aquarium. The two most common color choices are black and blue, and both serve to hide the traces of aquarium equipment and bring out a better look to the tank overall. To maximize the effectiveness of the look, however, you might have to spend a little time scraping coralline algae from the back wall of the aquarium. The material for the backgrounds can come in the form of paint, vinyl adhesives, or even just sheets of colored plastic.
