Tip of the Day – 7/5/2013

It’s time to wipe the crust for your eyes, shake off those hotdog and hamburger hangovers, and get a little reacquainted with your aquarium maintenance tasks. Since most people have today off, extending their July 4th weekend to four days, it’s a good time to pop into the tank room and start knocking out those activities that you’ve been putting off. Water changes are quick and straight forward, so we would start there. It’s also a good idea to replace carbon and GFO media, scrape off some algae, and clean the skimmer cup. All in all, maybe an hour’s worth of work…which can all be done while the spouse and kids are snoozing away.
