Tip of the Day – 7/18/2013

Many of the stainless steel fragging tools that we use in our aquarium are marketed in a way that hobbyists believe they are fully rustproof. Unfortunately, this isn’t exactly the case. Most of those tools will show signs of rust almost immediately, becoming worse and worse over time. Fragging tools like bone cutters will rust significantly at the joints, making them hard to open and close without two hands. We won’t go on and on about the tools and their ability to rust, but we will close by saying that it’s a good idea to thoroughly wash all of your tools and fragging suppliers before putting them away. It’s also a good idea to keep the tools in a dry place where they won’t be exposed to moisture.
