When nuisance organisms pop up in your aquarium, the time to act is instantly. Failing to take care of a problem, even one as simple as a few strands of algae, can quickly turn into a plague that you never get rid of. Hair algae, flatworms, and cyanobacteria, among many others, can quickly take over your aquarium, sometimes in as little as a day. So, if something potentially devastating comes along, take care of it right away. Additionally, avoid taking a casual approach of removal and instead take a more stringent, thorough one. Don’t hold back at a few tufts of algae. Go all out in eradicating it from the get go.
