Instead of getting one large heater, get several smaller heaters. The thought process behind this being that if a large heater fails in the on position, it could warm your tank to the extent of killing all of your livestock. If you have several, much small heaters, then the off-chance of a heater failing won’t heat up your aquarium that much.
