Sally Lightfoot Crab in Anemone Garden

The Sally Lightfoot crab has always been one of my favorite crustaceans. They look pretty aggressive, but they spend their days grazing for algae on the rocks. The Sally Lightfoot has a flat body with legs that stick out laterally. They use their pincers to gather algae from the substrate and are constantly flicking their antennae. In the video above from Coral Morphologic, you can see the Sally Lightfoot grazing among a garden of gorgeous red rock anemones. The crab’s agility allow it to move amongst the rocks and anemones with ease.
