Do you have an aquarium that is housed in an area that is lit 24/7? Your livestock does need a period of darkness to simulate their natural environment. To keep the light out of the tank, simply attach a black cloth to the front and sides of your aquarium with some Velcro. This setup will allow you to remove the cloth when the tank is lit and remove it easily when the tank is not.
