Want to put a large aquarium on a desk or another object you can’t drill through? You can have a successful reef tank without a sump or a refugium. Just get a decent hang-on-tank (HOT) protein skimmer or a hang-on-tank refugium. It may not be ideal and the equipment may be unattractive, but the inside of the tank will look nice.
