ORA Bird of Paradise Closeup
Pictured this week is a macro shot of an ORA Bird of Paradise birdsnest (Seriatpora hystrix). This coral has a vibrant green base with purple polyps, making it both unique and attractive to most SPS owners. The tips of this species of birdsnest coral are very sharp and can inflict some damage on a careless reef keeper’s hands. The birdsnest corals also don’t encrust like other SPS corals.
