Have you considered using a closed loop on your aquarium. Well keep the following in mind. The pumps typically used for a closed loop system use a lot of electricity, often a couple of hundred watts. The wavemaking devices, such as Ocean Motions systems, also use electricity. On top of all that, the entire setup might move 5000 gph or less. Now compare this to two EcoTech Marine Vortech MP40w ES or two Tunze 6105 pumps. A pair of either pumps will use less than 100 watts and put out over 6000 combined gph.
