When prepping your aquarium to paint, be sure to also cover any pane of glass or acrylic that you don’t want painted. Spray paint has the tendency to get caught in the wind a little bit and will fins its way onto areas you don’t want to be painted. For glass, this is a simple fix. You can simply scrape away any excess paint with a razorblade. Acrylic tanks prove to be a tad more difficult, as a razorblade will most likely scratch the acrylic. To remove the paint, you could try to remove it with a buffer and polishing/abrasive chemical.
