We all remember that scene from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi where Boba Fett gets swallowed alive by the giant underground worm. Perhaps I’m showing off too much of my nerdy side, but the video above immediately reminded me of that scene. The showpiece Scolymia, seen here from Cherry Corals, is being fed a healthy amount of LPS Pellets from Fauna Marine. The coral immediately responds to the food by moving it’s mouth toward the pellets and the pellets toward its mouth. Somewhat surprisingly, the gorgeous Scoly doesn’t expand its tentacles and go into full feeding mode, but they do open up to some extent. Tentacles or none, this is a stunning coral and the video of it feeding is extremely intriguing.
