Plastic, latex, and nitrile gloves aren’t just used for a reef keeper’s protection. Sure, they provide a barrier between your hands and a nasty sting or cut, but they also protect corals. We come into contact with thousands of different chemicals on a daily basis. From using hand soap to pumping gasoline, we are exposed to many different things that can wreak havoc in our aquariums. Washing our hands doesn’t always get those nasty chemicals off. So to protect your corals, try using gloves.
