Saltwater aquariums can make a great addition to any home. However, they can also be quite destructive. Saltwater from overflows and protein skimmers can splash on unprotected surfaces and leave salt deposits after it evaporates. There are several ways to avoid these issues, including using de-humidifiers, water-resistant liners, and extra precautions.
