Most aquarium livestock purchases made at local fish stores are final. Because these animals are so difficult to care for, aquarium stores can’t guarantee the survival of any live animal. Unfortunately, when you walk out the door with a new fish, invert, or coral purchase, the responsibility rests solely on the aquarium keeper. To remedy any potential livestock loss, pick the healthiest in the tank. Make sure the fish or coral is pest free, and try to get animals to eat prior to purchasing them.
