Tip of the Day – 3/11/2011

Living in a newer neighborhood that is still undergoing construction? Sure the constant sounds of saws and hammers can be annoying, but the building of a new home can lead to quite the excess of materials to build an aquarium stand. At the end of each day, the crew working on the house usually piles up pieces of wood of various lengths. With the appropriate amount of scrounging, you can gather 2×4’s to build the frame of your stand. If you play your cards right, you might even find some nails or screws, along with the material to skin the stand. With all this said, please don’t take building material that the home builder is either currently using or has laid out for future use. Rummage through their waste pile and maybe even ask before you take anything.
