Tip of the Day – 8/3/2011

The aquarium hobby is quite an expensive one, and because of this most young aquarium keepers cannot thrive in their passion. They can’t afford quality corals or even gently used equipment, and most of the time they get out of the hobby because it’s just too expensive. The unfortunate thing about all of this is the fact that young hobbyists are the future of this hobby, and as a community we need to be more supportive and nurturing to those coming up in the ranks. I’m not saying you have to give them your VorTech pump for free, but when you’re fragging corals, why not toss them a freebie. Of course, keep the coral within their experience level, but don’t give them the junk that you can’t give away to other hobbyists who know better either.
