Aquarium moonlights don’t always have to be bright, or even blue for that matter. In fact, the moon emits such a faint white light that barely illuminates anything on a reef at night. Because of this, using an extremely bright, blue moonlight is actually quite unnatural. As an alternative, try using a low power, high Kelvin white LED. The faint white light will give your tank just enough lighting at night to see the tiny creatures roaming around, but won’t make the tank so bright that fish are actively swimming around the tank.
