Magnet floats don’t have to be boring tools that only serve one purpose. You can actually use them for multiple things like frag racks, an additional space to mount a coral, or even a replacement magnet for your powerhead if you ever lost one. A lot of hobbyists have actually attached egg crate light diffusing material to the front of old Mag-Floats to create a moveable and worry free frag rack that costs relatively nothing to make. A few supplies are needed, such as the egg crate and the materials to attach it to the magnet, but these are readily available and most hobbyists just have some laying around. And with the prices of magnets going up, it’s time to conserve as much as possible and make use out of everything available.
