Tip of the Day – 12/8/2011

Have a coral that is just so beautiful or unique that you’d just die if you lost it? Well, why not protect your investment by giving a small frag of the coral to your friend, or at the very least putting another frag in a different part of your tank or even a different aquarium in your care. By spreading the coral around a little, you can keep a backup of the coral in case something happens to the parent colony. Worst case scenario, if your aquarium crashes or something causes the coral to die, you can replace it with a small frag. Of course, it’s not practical to keep a spare of each and every coral you have, so focus on the rarer corals.
