Although most of us simply let our waste water from our RO/DI systems pour down the drain, we really could use that water in a less wasteful way. This water is high in total dissolved solids, which doesn’t necessarily mean it’s full of good or bad things in particular, but waste water can be used to water our lawns or gardens, or used in multiple other ways. After all, it’s just water. So, next time you plan on making up water for a 50-gallon water change, just remember the 150+ gallons of waste water could be put to better use.
