Want a pH bolstering method for adding calcium to your aquarium, but don’t want to encounter the risks associated with kalkwasser dripping? Well, try two-part solutions or dosing balling salts. These two methods are very simple to use and don’t require a ton of equipment. Two-part dosing is obviously the simplest, as it only involves a couple of solutions, some straightforward directions, and you’ll almost never run the risk of overdosing and wiping out your whole tank. Dosing with balling salts is a little more complex, as this method requires a dosing pump setup, several different chemicals, and a more thorough understanding of how each of the chemicals interact with each other. Regardless, both methods raise pH only slightly and don’t require all of the same hardware as a calcium reactor setup.
