Tip of the Day – 3/28/2012

When asking fellow aquarium keepers from your favorite aquarium community to properly identify some strange creature in your tank that you know you didn’t purposefully put in there, avoid relying on memory to give a terrible description. Instead, try to take a detailed photograph of the creature that lurks behind the rocks and seemingly only comes out at night. Chances are, you will inaccurately remember the distinguishing characteristics of the unknown animal, which makes identifying it impossible. A photograph, on the other hand, will give the more experienced aquarium keepers a much better idea of what it could be, improving your chances for a correct ID.
