Tip of the Day – 3/9/2012

When modifying aquarium equipment such as protein skimmers, it might be a good idea to order some stock replacement pieces so that if the mod doesn’t work as expected, you can return the device to its normal operation the very same day. Fortunately, replacement pieces like impellers and ceramic shafts are readily available, typically, and don’t usually cost too much money. If you want to try multiple mods, order several replacement items so that you’re free to experiment but always have a backup.
