I’m sure I sound like a broken record by saying this, but as marine aquarium hobbyists, we need to make responsible purchases. Buy fish, corals, and invertebrates only from reputable sources and only purchase an animal that you are fully capable to taking care of. Be sure to follow proper acclimation and quarantining techniques, and avoid purchasing organisms with a poor track record in captivity. Also try to stay away from keeping larger fish, or those with the potential to get large, in a small aquarium in hopes of relocating them when they get too big. By following a loose set of guidelines and making smart choices, you can be very successful in this hobby.
