Tip of the Day – 8/24/2012

Plan on going to a big aquarium related event, such as the Marine Aquarium Conference of North America but don’t want to blow through a preset budget and irritate your significant other? To keep expenditures at a minimum, try splitting travel and lodging costs with a fellow hobbyist or a group of hobbyists from your area. Plane tickets obviously can’t be divied up, but if three or four people ride to a show together and go splitsies on a hotel room, the costs for each person drop dramatically. This will free up funding for raffle tickets and corals that you can purchase at the show. If you do plan on using air travel, buy tickets as far in advance as possible and don’t forget to look for flights with stopovers, as these will be far cheaper.
