While most aquarium fish are generally fed lightly in order to keep down on the excess nutrients in the tank, it’s also quite easy to overfeed your fish. Most reef inhabitants are very opportunistic and will take advantage of every heavy feeding by gorging themselves. When this happens, the fish’s stomach can become distended and it can cause all sorts of digestion related issues, even resulting in the fish’s death. To prevent overfeeding, try not to feed large amounts at one time. Instead, feed small amounts at several times a day and make sure every fish eats at least a some food.
