When drilling an aquarium for plumbing hardware, be sure to take your time and use something to stabilize the drill as you make your way through the glass. Despite using a diamond-tipped hole bit and trying your best to move slowly and methodically, you will likely push through the aquarium too fast, causing either excessive pressure or a jumping drill to damage the tank. And when it does, the damage is usually extensive enough to ruin the entire tank.
